The Patriot Player Development Plan

9U
: We envision the 9U Player Program to be one of player development in the sense of teaching them the game. Focus on simple but essential parts of the game such as techniques for learning how to play the game and learning how to catch and throw in a straight line, how to grip and swing a bat and basic base running techniques to help them move onto 10U baseball the following year. Teams will train in the off season focusing on the essential needed skills to play the game. The season will run from April-July and teams will play 20-30 games in the New Balance Select. This program will have a heavy emphasis on learning how to play as many positions as possible. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

10U
: We want players in the 10U program to build off their 9U season after having been exposed to organized baseball activities and having been taught simple but essential parts of the game to be successful in playing. As they progress through to the 10U program the focus for the players will continue what was stressed at the 9U level but begin to hone skills a little more to be prepared to move onto the intermediate sized diamond that has 50' distance from the pitcher’s mound to the plate and 70' base paths. Players will continue to be taught skills based on readiness. Teams will train in the off season focusing on the essential needed skills to play the game. The season will run from April-July and teams will play 20-30 games in the New Balance Select. This program will have a heavy emphasis on playing as many positions as possible. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

11U
: We want players in the 11U program to build off their 10U season after having been exposed to organized baseball activities and having been taught simple but essential parts of the game to be successful in playing. This is a big transition year as players will now be playing on the aforementioned 50/70 diamond. There is a lot to learn at this level as this level is considered “real baseball”. At the 11U level the game is played with players pitching from the stretch, taking leads and stealing bases and more. We want the focus to be on teaching and developing essential skills to be able to succeed on the 50/70 diamond and to take those skills with them as they move onto the 12U program. The season will run from April-July and teams will play 20-30 games in the New Balance Select with the possibility of local and regional tournaments supplementing the schedule. This program will have a heavy emphasis on playing as many positions as possible. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

12U
: We want players in the 12U program to build off their 11U season after having been exposed to a full and successful season playing on the 50/70 diamond. At this level we want to have players build off what they learned playing real baseball for the first time and carry it over to the 12U program where they are bigger and stronger and can handle the 50/70 easier. However, that being said we are also striving to develop what skills and techniques they will need as they are getting ready to play on the “big diamond” next year. The season will run from April-July and teams will play 20-30 games in the New Balance Select with the possibility of local and regional tournaments supplementing the schedule. This program will have a heavy emphasis on playing as many positions as possible. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

13U:
We want players in the 13U program to build off their 12U season and begin what is arguably the hardest transition in baseball as they transition over to playing on the “big diamond”. We feel very strongly our program and development plan will have prepared players to be able to play on the big diamond better than any program around. The season will run from April-July and teams will play 20-30 games in the New Balance Select with the possibility of local and regional tournaments supplementing the schedule. This program will have a heavy emphasis on playing as many positions as possible based on readiness of their current skill set on the 60/90 big diamond. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

Patriot Player Development Plan High School College Prep Program

14U:
We want the players in the 14U program to build off the adjustments they made while playing on a regulation MLB sized “big diamond” at the 13U level and apply what they have learned to be introduced to a higher level of baseball situations and training techniques as they begin the transition to high school baseball. While possibly still playing multiple positions, many players will now begin to zone in on and identify their primary position(s) they are projected to play at the high school level. Teams in the 14U program will play a balance of tournaments and games in the New Balance Select playing 20-30 games from April-July. Off season will have components of skill evaluation in the fall, indoor winter training that includes baseball specific activity along with strength training. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

15U:
We want players in the 15U program to build off their 14U season after having been exposed to a higher level of baseball situations and training techniques and to begin preparing for varsity caliber baseball. This will be accomplished as teams in the 15U program play a full summer of a majority of wood bat games that can be but not limited to local, regional, and potentially national tournament play and a schedule supplemented by playing New Balance Select games when appropriate. This will probably be another transition type summer as players will be coming off what most likely will be their first high school season and likely be the player’s first summer only game schedule from June to the beginning of August. Teams will play 20-30 games. Off season will have components of skill evaluation in the fall and players will train all off season to prepare for varsity caliber baseball through baseball specific activity along with strength training. Select 15U players who have been identified as ready and capable will be exposed to an even higher level of games as they will “play up” where deemed appropriate for the individual player's development. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season.

16U:
We want players in the 16U program to build off their 15U season after having been exposed to a higher level of baseball situations and training techniques. However, players at this age in the 16U program, are most likely coming off high school varsity level seasons. In the 16U program there will be an added focus to put our players in the best possible position for college exposure and recruiting. This will be accomplished as teams in the 16U program play a full summer of a majority of wood bat games that can be, but not limited to local, regional, and potentially national tournament play entering the most competitive tournaments against top level competition. The schedule will be supplemented by playing New Balance Select games when appropriate. We will be playing a summer only game schedule from June to the beginning of August. Teams will play 20-30 games. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season. We will also be offering and hosting PBR and Perfect Game showcases in an effort to get our players in the proper databases to give our players the best chances to get recruited. We feel there is a place for every single player from the high D1 level down to the JUCO level. We will be working diligently on an individual one on one basis to help guide our players through a variety of meetings between our players, their parents/guardians/caretakers and our very capable staff to figure out and follow through with a plan based on the individual players priorities for school and we can help mesh baseball into the equation.

17U
: We want players in the 17U program to build off their 16U season after having been exposed to a higher level of baseball situations and training techniques. However, players at this age in the 17U program, are most likely coming off high school varsity level seasons. Depending on the player's graduation year in relation to their birthday is the direction the players at this level will go. In the 17U program if the player is not a senior who has committed to a college, there will be an added focus to put our players in the best possible position for college exposure and recruiting. This will be accomplished as teams in the 17U program play a full summer of a majority of wood bat games that can be, but not limited to local, regional, and potentially national tournament play entering the most competitive tournaments against top level competition.

18U: If there is a desire and enough players to make an 18U team this program would be focused on players who most likely have completed their senior year of high school and have probably already figured out where they are going to college. If that is the case, then the purpose would be to have players get ready for their freshman year of college by playing a full summer of a majority of wood bat games that can be, but not limited to local, regional, and potentially national tournament play entering the most competitive tournaments against top level competition. The schedule will be supplemented by playing New Balance Select games when appropriate. We will be playing a summer only game schedule from June to the beginning of August. Teams will play 20-30 games. Since our focus will always be on development there will be built in practice times during the playing season. If some of the players are uncommitted to college and have a desire to play at that level then we will steer the competition to tournaments for uncommitted players still looking to find a college to attend. There could be a heavy emphasis on fall uncommitted tournaments as an added component to help players commit somewhere.
